Sweet November Stamps ~ MerMay is Here! **PRIZE**

Happy MerMay!  Today is release day over at Sweet November Stamps for the newest MerMay clear stamps!

We're celebrating the new release with an Instagram hop today!

Hop along, follow each participant, like their post and comment for a chance to WIN THE ENTIRE MERMAY RELEASE!

Start the hop HERE!

Today's creation features the brand new "Finna" mini mermaid with all her sea creature friends from the "Something's Fishy" stamp set.

I started today's card by stamping our little "Finna" in some Memento "Desert Sand" ink.  I also created a mask for Finna and applied that over her image.  Next I applied a My Favorite Things mask over top called the "Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil".  I carefully stamped a variety of little fishes throughout the void in the stencil.  I created and applied masks to each and every fish image.

Then I took my Copic Air Brush and sprayed in the teal water color in that void.

I peeled off all the masks and the stencil and colored in our sweet mermaid and her fishy friends with Copic Markers.

To finish off the water, I created bubbles using my Copic Blender pen.

I quick trim and a mounting on some fun aqua dotted patterned paper and the card was finished!

I hope you get a chance to check out our Instagram hop today. Hope you have a mer-mazing weekend!

Sweet November Stamps ~ May the 4th Be With You!

Happy Star Wars Day and MerMay is in full swing over at Sweet November Stamps already.

Today's creation features the brand new digi, "Leia", is featured on today's card.  This bun wielding beauty is all decked out in her best mermaid tail and her bestie, R2D2 jelly!

For my card, I printed it out on some X-Press It cardstock and I also printed out some masking material too.

I applied my masks to my images and then I used my Copic air brush system to add the teal colors to my water. Before removing the masks, I added some white acrylic paint splatters.

I used my Copic Markers to color in my Leia and R2D2 jelly.  I did actually add a few lines to the images.  I added some shirt details to her body and some more button details to the jelly.

Coming next Saturday...

We have new MERMAIDS coming next week!  Check out the Sweet November Stamps Facebook page and Instagram account for lots of  "fin-spiration"!

See you soon!

Scrap 'N Stamp ~ Sunshine 'N Rainbows Hop **PRIZE**

Welcome to the Scrap 'N Stamp Sunshine 'N Rainbows Hop!

Today's card features some fun and whimsical stamps by Studio Light featuring some Gorjuss Girls products.  The stamp set I used is called "How Does Your Garden Grow".  This adorable stamp set features a larger sized Gorjuss Girl with a 'tude, her little kitty cat, a little shrub with flowers and a 3 piece rainbow.

With our theme, I thought I would do a simplified pastel rainbow pattern using the 3 piece rainbow.  I used 3 simple, light colored Catherine Pooler inks; Cotton Candy, Oh Boy! and Lemon Sorbet. The 3 pieces of the rainbow are not really designed to line up perfectly so with the over lapping of the inks, it creates the overlapping colors of orange and green in some areas.  I used this as my card base patterned paper.

From that card base, I die cut an arched shape and then adhered the negative of that shape to a black card base.

I used some acetate to back the opening of the arch and added some coordinating soft colored pastel sequins below while placing the upper panel on strips of foam adhesive to trap in the sequins and boost up the card front panel.

I stamped my little girl and her kitty on some Prism Studio Solar white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in using my Copic Markers.  I made sure to color their dresses with the same pastel rainbow colors from my stamped rainbow background.  I attached them both to the front panel of the card.

To finish off my card, I added a heat embossed white birthday themed sentiment on black cardstock.

I think the pair turned out super cute!

We also have some shop specials in the shop to go along with our fun theme. Check out the SALES for this event!
