Winter's Chalkboard

Happy Friday all!  I hope your day has begun being a good one.  My hubby’s on his way home from work today so I’m excited.  Let’s get started for today…

If you weren’t aware, Power Poppy revealed FIVE brand new holiday themed stamp sets in the last week, a collection called "Happiest Holiday 2016" and the Bloom Brigaders have been hard at work creating and sharing.  So today I thought I’d combine a few new sets and share them with you today.

My card today wasn’t quite what I had in my mind when I first began creating but it’s slowly grown on me.  What do you think…
I layered a few white embossed sprays on vellum from the “Glistening Paperwhites” stamp set over laid by some chalkboard style inking in the back ground.  I used the cute little bough & jingle bell and mistletoe images from the “Fully Stocked” collection plus a few small snowflakes from the “Action Santa” stamp set too!

I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops to all the berries in the spray…

I hope I’ve inspired you today.  I know the rest of the Bloom Brigade has some fabulous inspiration for you too!  Check them out…

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a creative weekend.

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I actually got off my butt and made a card for my own Splitcoaststampers card sketch for this week.  Here’s a quick peek at the sketch… it’s a simple one!
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/card-sketches-f41/sketch-challenge-616-%7B10-11-2016%7D-t613828.html

And here’s my take on my own sketch.  I actually rotated it upside down and used it that way.

Chimney: E99, E08, E37  Snow: T0, T2, BG0000  Other: G07, Y18, T7

I used Distress Inks to create my sky and Copics to colour in my images.

I’m also going to share a sneak peek for this week’s challenge over at StampNation this week.  What do you think is our theme this week?

And last but not least, let’s announce a winner of my Power Poppy giveaway.  The winner is…

Each one of these beautifully drawn stamps will be a great asset to your stamping collection or they’d make a great gift for someone who loves to create!

Since Santa delivers his gifts at night, I thought a night scene was in order…
I just love the subtle glow of the street lights on his face and scooter!  I created the night sky on a piece of water colour paper and used a variety of Ranger Distress Inks to get a galaxy effect.

Just Sending Out Hi 5's Friend!

Happy Friday everyone!  I’m so glad this week is over and I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my hubby and son this weekend! But before we do that, let’s make a card!

This month over on the Power Poppy Blog it’s my turn to host the Power & Spark Challenge and so I chose the theme of “Make It Move”… in other words, I wanted to see everyone make a card that involved something that moved.  I could have been a shaker card where the beads or sequins or tiny die cuts moved inside the shaker element.  It could have been a fun interactive type of card where a tag pulled out.  The skies the limit as far as I’m concerned for the challenge this week.  See the Power Poppy Blog here for more challenge details.

So again, I thought I’d make a super quick “Make It Move” type card to share with you. So join me in my creative space and I’ll make right in front of your eyes!

And here’s a quick peek at that card again.  It features the funky hand image and sentiments from the “Folk Heart” stamp set. All I did was use a fun Action Wobbler to make that funky hand stamp wave!  So simple!
Copic Markers: BG10, BG11, RV00, R85, Y08, YG03, YR12

I hope you’ll continue on and check out all the amazing card creations from the rest of my fellow Bloom Brigaders today…

Don’t forget that our newest Power Poppy release begins sneak peeks on SUNDAY!  I hope to see you Sunday when I’ll have my first card to share with our first of FIVE new holiday stamp sets!  You’re gunna LOVE the Happiest Holiday collection for sure!!  Until then… here’s another snippet of holiday card fun coming up…

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope you will join us in out challenge this month.  I can’t wait to see some innovative moving card elements from all of you!  Happy creating!

Autumn and Santa Too?

Here in Alberta we’ve had snow on and off for the last 4 days.  It really hasn’t stuck around but continues to fall.  I’m SOOO not ready for winter to begin.  We had such a wet summer that it didn’t really feel like a summer at all!  I need just another 6-8 weeks of Fall!!!

I’m over on the Power Poppy Blog today sharing a quick tutorial on how to use Copic Markers and the air brush system to create simple back grounds.  Click the photo below to be taken to the post!
http://powerpoppy.blogspot.ca/2016/10/inspire-me-monday-simple-copic-air.html

So in honour of another snowy day, I thought I’d pull out my new holiday themed Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and create a card for their Wonderful WednesdayAnything Goes” challenge.

For this card, I used their brand new “Dear Santa” stamp set.  The inside reads “Define ‘good’?”  LOL… so cute right!
 Copics:  coat/hat: R14, R17, R29, R89  dog: E30, E23, E25, E27  skin: E50, E00, E11, R02
hair/coat: N1, N2  boots: N5, N7, N10, Y13, Y17

I used the fun and fab “Log Cabin Mounainscape” die from SugarPea Designs for my background.

I hope you’re having a great Monday.  It’s the last day of our Thanksgiving weekend so we’re just playin’ it easy today.

~ Ally ~

dies: SugarPea Designs (Log Cabin Mounainscape)

I've Gone Batty!

Hey gang!  I've finally gotten to take a few moments and stamp for myself today.  I am in a Halloween card swap over at StampNation this month so I wanted to get my card done and in the mail hopefully today.   Because I had all the stuff out on my desk, I decided to make 2 cards.

I was inspired today by the SugarPea Designs “Mix It Up Challenge #18”.  I chose to use both sides; I used the basic sketch design for both cards plus I chose to use the theme of Halloween from the image side of the challenge.

Here’s my first card today…
Copics: V000, V20, V22, V25, V17, R00, R01, R02

Here’s a quick peek of all the shimmery & shiny detail on this little critter…
Each one of my bats are attached with an Action Wobbler so they "fly" in their cloudy skies!  So cute!

And my second card today…
Copics: BG10, BG11, T0, T1, T3, T5, R00, R12, V20

I added the same shimmer to this card too…

Thanks for stopping by today.  Now to decide which one I’m going to send to my Halloween Sistah and which one I’ll send to family!  Touch decisions!

Just Make it Move Baby!

Hey Power Poppy Lovers!  It’s Friday and Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I’m anxiously awaiting my husband’s arrival home tomorrow to spend our first Thanksgiving together in many years – typically he’s working on this holiday but not this year!  Woohoo!

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.ca/search/label/Power%20%26%20Spark%20Challenge

This week we begin with a brand new Power & Spark Challenge and I’m this month’s hostess.  For this month, we want to see You Move It, Move It!  That is, we want to see an element of your card move.  It could be anything from a pull-out tag, to some sequins in a shaker card to a fun element that jiggles all on its own!  Let's see you Make it Move this month!

If you haven’t already seen my first card, you can visit the Power Poppy Blog for my card and a quick video.

So I thought I would make a new card to share with you all especially in mind…

So my card is a two-fold moving card.  First off, it has a shaker element on the front.  It contains some clear sequins and clear & silver micro-beads too!  It features the amazing wreath image from the "Wreaths Plain and Fancy".  The "Happy Holidays" sentiment also comes on the wreath stamp set plus the lower greeting is from the "Cozy Cupfuls" stamps.

My card is called a “Surprise Pop Up Card”. You can see a tutorial on this style of card at Splitcoast right here.

Here is my card with the tag pulled up…
Copics:  R05, R17, R46, R59, YR01, BG72, BG93, G02, YG45, YG63, YG93

The gorgeous sentiments and the poinsettia image on the inside both come from the "Poinsettia" stamp collection.

And here's a rather fuzzy pic of the top tag when pulled out...

I hope you’ll continue on and check out all the amazing card creations from the rest of my fellow Bloom Brigaders today…
