Timeless Tuesday: Fall Off the Page!

Yippee!  It's Tuesday everyone!  And this week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge is extra special because this week is my week to host!

For this week's challenge, FTTC193, I'm asking you to create a card or project where you're focal image falls off of your page.  All you have to do is ensure that your stamped image drops off the edge of your page.  Here is my example that I shared with everyone on the Flourishes blog today...

Joy to the World
But I decided I would show you another fun card where my focal image drops off the page...

Happy Holidays Holly
I began my card by stamping the glorious holly image from the "Naturally Merry" stamp set using Memento "Black Tuxedo" ink on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Using the die as masking tool, I inked up the edges of the image using Ranger's Distress Inks, "Old Paper" and "Peeled Paint".  I then took the "Happy Holidays" stamp from the retired stamp set, "A Gift For You" stamp collection and added some subtle stamping in the focal images back ground.

This card is extra special!  If you pull the black ribbon at the top of the card, not one... but TWO tags pop out of the card.  One at the top...

... and one at the bottom!

All the sentiments stamped on the tags are from the "Naturally Merry" stamp set as well.  Isn't that cool!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join me and the rest of the team and create a fun card or project where your focal image drops off the edge of your creation.

Timeless Tuesday: Birthday Wishes!

Howdy all!  Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another fabulous Timeless Tuesday Challenge over at Flourishes!!

This week's awesome challenge is hosted by the lovely, Amanda Havon, our Team Coordinator!  This week, Amanda is challenging you to create a birthday card or project (FLLC192).  Yup... it's a simple as that!  Here is what I created for this week's challenge...

Country Birthday

For my card this week I knew I needed to make a masculine card for my brother-in-law's birthday coming up at the end of the month so I began by making a Surprise Pop-Up card.  You can see the Splitcoast tutorial on how to create your own card here.

I first die cut my oval shape using my Spellbinder's Classic Oval Nestabilities die out of Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock.  Then I stamped the glorious "horse and pasture" image and matching sentiment form the Flourishes "Country Road" stamp collection.

At the button of my pull-up tag, I stamped the "barn and windmill" image, also from the "Country Road" stamp collection and then I stamped the "Happy Birthday to You" over top of it from the NEW "Sentimental Favorites" set in navy ink to match my top image.

That gorgeous fine twine is also one of Flourishes fabulous trims!  It's called "Kraft Jute" and goes perfectly with my country themed card this week!

I also wanted to decorate the inside of my card with a message so I stamped the "Best Wishes" sentiment from the "Sentimental Favorites" set as my card's finishing touch!

Share With You Sunday!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  As a family, we're just hanging out around the house today... doing laundry, catching up on projects and doing some projects around the house.  Pretty much a lazy day... the best kind right?

Today I thought I'd share a fun card I made for the Splitcoast card sketch this week...

Thank You
I created this thank you card for a friend who loves horses who helped me through my Dad's passing in July.  It's a little late but I know she'll love it!  The patterned papers are all from the Authentique company, "Original" collection.  They look like denim so I knew they'd be the perfect fit for my stamped image!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Join me on Tuesday for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.  This week's challenge is a BLAST!

Timeless Tuesday ~ Winter Wonder!

Yippee!  It's Tuesday... my favourite day of the week!  It's time for the Flourishes "Timeless Tuesday" Challenge.

This week our fabulous challenge is brought to you by the talented Cindy Haffner!  This week Cindy is challenging us to create a card or project inspired by winter (FTTC191)!  Yup... you know that season with all the white stuff... that's the one!  Think sledding, hot chocolate, skating... whatever your little heart desires!

So here is my winter inspired card this week...

Night Time Sledding Fun

I began my card by creating a night time winter scene.  First I stamped my evergreen from the "Forest of Trees" stamp set in navy ink into Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then instead of cleaning off my stamp, I laid down a jagged edged Post-It Note across the image and stamped my tree again.  This caused a more subtle, lighter coloured tree, creating perspective and dimension.  I stamped a few more trees along this masked edge.

Then I took a circle and masked off a "moon" in the sky.  I used some Ranger "Milled Lavender" and "Faded Jeans" Distress Inks to create the night sky.  A few dots and stars using a Inkssentials White Opaque Pen for stars and snow.

The red ribbon, silver cording and the beautiful silver snowflake charm are all from the Flourishes 123 Create Kit "Rejoice" released in September.  There are still a few of this gorgeous kit left!  Make sure you check it out here!

To decorate the inside, I stamped a row of the "Sweater pattern" from the newly released Flourishes "Snow Day" stamp set.  I also added the greeting "Snowy Greetings" as from the "Snow Day" stamp set.

Here are few close ups of the front of the card.  I added some fun red KaiserCraft Rhinestones.  I added some fine glitter to the edges of all the snow drifts for that touch of winter sparkle!

And my final stamped image of the sled leaning against the stool with the mug of steaming hot chocolate and warm winter boots is also form the new release, "Snowy Day".  For this image I used a variety of Flourishes Copic Collections:
I also added some Glossy Accents to the sled and mug to make them pop off the card front!
