Timeless Tuesday ~ Fall Inspired!

Howdy everyone!  Tuesday again and time to play with more Flourishes stamps!  Time for another fabulous Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.

For this week's challenge Maki has challenged us to create a project that is fall themed (FTTC188)!  I have to tell you... fall is my favourite time of the year and I'm always inspired by its beautiful colour palette of brilliant reds, lush oranges, sunny yellows and rich browns!   So today I thought I'd share something other than a card... it's a magic box (just like a mini Explosion box!)!!!

Butterfly Magic Box
The Front Panel

The Top of the Box

I used the beautiful butterfly image form the "Clematis & Butterflies" stamp set.  I began stamping in Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and then I inked the edges with a combination of Ranger Distress InksAntique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters.

Open Magic Box
Inside I tried to create a little autumn garden oasis.  For my garden plants, I used ferns from the "Ferns & Fiddles" stamp set and other greenery from the retired "Herbs" stamp collection.  I used both Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink and "Desert Sand" ink to create a feeling of depth in my little garden.

Butterfly Detail

To make it look as though my beautiful butterflies were in mid air, I glued them to narrow strips of Flourishes Clear Cover CardstockVoila!  Three fluttering beauties!

Bottom Box Detail
And for the final panel at the bottom of my box, I used the "Medallion Motif" stamp set - which included the decorative medallion and the central sentiment as well.

Take a peek at what my fellow Timeless Tuesday designers have created for today's fall themed challenge…
You can find all the challenge details at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC188.  I hope you will join us for this week's challenge.  Can't wait to see what you create and share with us!

Alphabet Love!

Hello everyone!  Hope your week is going great.  Today over on the myStamp BOX blog, the Design Team and I are all talking about...
ALPHABETS!

For my project this month, I wanted to showcase one of my favourite mSB stamp sets, Tall Outlines I & II.  One of the reasons why I love these stamps sets, is that they are LARGE and empty (in other words... you can stamp inside them)!

Here is a close up of the inside of my alpha detail.  I used the tiny snowflake stamp from the "Let It Snow!" stamp set.  And those pretty little boughs are from the "Holiday Monkey" stamp set.

I added a little bit of Glossy Accents to the odd embossed holly berry and some glitter to the boughs.

Come on out and check out the BLOG what the rest of my fellow Design Team members have created using ALPHABETS.

Supplies:
stamps:  myStamp BOX
cardstock:  Flourishes Classic White
die cut shapes:  Spellbinders
inks: Memento, Copic, Ranger, Stampin' Up!
accessories:  Martha Stewart glitter

Timeless Tuesday ~ It's Sketchy!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  Welcome to the this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge!  It's my turn to post the challenge over on the Flourishes blog and so I had to go with my favourite kind of challenge... it's a SKETCH challenge!  WOOHOO!

I chose to rotate the sketch and use it on it's side.  You can also choose to rotate or flip-flop this week's sketch.  Here is my card creation using my sketch this week...
JOY
by Allison Cope
For my card this week, I used the newly released "Peace & Joy" stamp collection stamped using Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock.  I inked the edges of my focal image using the Ranger Distress Inks; Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.

For my card this week I used the amazing "Rejoice" 123 Create Kit.  This kit is jammed packed full of gorgeous card making items; stunning 6x6 patterned papers, 3 types of coordinating ribbons, some wonderful silver twine, some super cute banner pins and some stunning snowflake charms!  This kit is a MUST HAVE everyone!!!

Today, I colored my image using the Copic Collections:

I wanted to share with you today how I created my focal image.  Here's a step by step tutorial on how I created it.

Creating a Cracked Glass Effect

Step One:
I stamped my "JOY" image on Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock using Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink.  Then I coloured my image with Copics and added Ranger Distress inks along the edge of my image.

Step Two:
I then inked up the entire image with Versamark ink and covered it in UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel).  I set the UTEE with a heat gun.  I added a bit of clear glitter to the hot, wet UTEE so it would embed it's self into the layer.

Step Three:
Repeat step 2 twice more to achieve a thick layer of UTEE.  Allow to cool and harden.

Step Four:
Once the UTEE has hardened, I bent the image to create cracks.  Try and bend it in multiple directions to get cracks running in all different directions.

Step Five:
I then wiped dark ink across the UTEE layer to get ink to drop into the cracks.  Once you are happy with the level of ink in the cracks, wipe any access ink off of the surface of your image with a paper towel.

I hope this inspires you to pull out your UTEE and create!

Yeehaw! The Wild & Wonderful Challenge is here!

Yeehaw!!!  Another Flourishes noon-time challenge!

For this last noon-time challenge, your card just has to be a little on the rugged side. Use faux leather, "lasso" in some fun trim or give your creation a distressed look -- you choose. Just make sure your card is worthy of the wild west!

Here's my wild-side card...

Howdy...

For my card today, I used the amazing September "Rejoice" 123 Create Kit!  Look at all those glorious papers and embellishments!  Make sure you get your hands on one of these as I know they'll go FAST!

Here's a little close up of my horseshoe detail.  The image is from the newest release, "Cowboy Christmas".  I used a variety of grey, brown and light green Copic markers to achieve the "rusty metal" look.

Make sure you check out the Senior Design team and their "Cowboy Christmas" creations.  Click HERE for all the links!

Dear Santa...

Howdy everyone!  Welcome to the first of 2 noontime challenges for Flourishes!  Check out the Flourishes blog tomorrow for the second and final challenge.

Today's challenge is...

You've heard the popular Christmas song lyrics -
"Tiny tots, with their eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight!
So, get those tykes in the Christmas spirit with a card... just for them!  That's right, make this creation all about the children in your lives!

So for my first card, I wanted to create an interactive card.  I mean what child wouldn't appreciate a card that has moving parts!?!  So I created this spinner card...

Sweet Smells
Suppliesstamps, Flourishes (Sweets of the Season);  cardstock, Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, Bazzill;  patterned papers, ribbons, gems, Flourishes 123 Create Kit;  inks, Copic, Memento;  die cut shapes, Spellbinders.

As you can see from the image above, my 2 little gingerbread people from the "Sweets of the Season" stamp set can actually move.  The can move freely around the central greeting of my card.

Here's a close up of the penny mechanism that allows the gingerbread people to move and rotate.  If you'd like to make a spinner card, you visit Splitcoaststampers for their spinner card tutorial HERE.  I used the basic concept but made my spinner opening an endless circle.

For both of card creations today I have used the newly released September 123 Create Kit!   This month's kit is packed full of amazing papers, cool embellishments and fabulous ribbons!  Why not check it out!

For my final card I thought going with a traditional shape on a card might be perfect for a child.  So I die cut a star shape from my Flourishes Classic White cardstock and backed it with strips of the many beautiful patterned papers in the 123 Create Kit.  I added a bow and frills using the luscious red ribbon from the kit along with one of the snowflake charms.  A few of pretty green gems and my card was complete!  My sentiment is from the "Sentimental Christmas" stamp collection and the teeny, tiny subtle snowflakes around the star are from the "Warm Winter Wishes" stamp set.

Bright with Hope
